Recently my nephew Kellen turned 7, and I was so excited that his parents decided to host his birthday party at a fun, local, kid-friendly place that I’ve been dying to check out with my son… Sky Zone!
Sky Zone is an indoor trampoline park in Washington Township for kids of all ages – even adults. The park features huge rooms of multiple trampolines for open jump, dodge ball and basketball, as well as a giant foam cube pit to jump and dive into.
I was impressed with how organized they were for our birthday group! Jumping was limited to one hour, and the children had to jump in areas of the park according to their age. (This was a bummer initially since Dylan is younger than most of the other kids and I wanted him to be able to jump with his cousin and friends, but he was just fine running around by himself and had many opportunities to meet up with them throughout the park. It also gave me peace of mind knowing that he wouldn’t be crashed into by some older punk kid!)
Before jumping, the kids got together and put on their special socks ($2 a pair, which you are required to buy, but can wash and bring back to re-use during future visits), and then the employee reviewed safety information with everyone. She did a good job of trying to keep the kids engaged and not bored while they waited for their jump time to begin. Not an easy task!
Each kid had a special sticker on his/her back that indicated their jump time and what areas they were permitted to jump in, based on age…
After that, the kids were free to run and play!
(Action shots of the kiddos were pretty hard to take because they were ALL over the place and having so much fun!) When he finished jumping, my little dude was totally sweaty and thirsty after having a ball. He loved it!
When jump time ended, the kids were rounded up and walked back to one of several private party rooms for the birthday celebration. My sister-in-law was able to order La Rosa’s pizza through Sky Zone and have it delivered. She also brought her own cake. Sky Zone set up table wear, and took care of the decorating and serving the kids! (For all the details on their birthday party package, click HERE.)
After the pizza, cake and presents, the kids had had an AWESOME day at Sky Zone!
If you’re interested in checking out Sky Zone, here are a few things to keep in mind…
- You need to sign a waiver to participate, and to make life easier on your and your kid, try to do this in advance online. The waiver will then be on file in their system when you arrive to help save time. It’s also kept on file for a year so you don’t need to complete it every time you visit. Yay!
- Safety is huge here. I saw MANY employees walking around and many “lifeguarding” the play areas at all time. They did a great job of making sure kids were playing by the rules and not getting hurt! Definitely nice to have that additional piece of mind.
- In addition to Open Play, they offer SkyRobics classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays if you’re looking for a new, fun exercise! ($10 per class)
- For kids 5 and younger, Toddler Time is offered every Friday from 10-11 a.m.! The gym is only open to little ones during this time, and parents can jump right along side them as well. ($10 per jumper)
Overall, we had a great experience and can’t wait to return to Sky Zone! I’m sure especially when the weather turns colder, I’ll be visiting here at least more than a few times with my son!
Have you been here with your kids before? I’d love to hear your feedback, as well!
Happy jumping! 🙂
